The Tayama Turbo Convection Oven multi-purpose convection/halogen oven can be used to replace your main oven. It bakes, grills, roasts and even stems all in less time than a conventional oven. The food will stay moist and tender and helps to preserve the nutrients in your food.
The oven works by circulating fan-forced hot air over the surface of the food so that it is cooked evenly.
The dial controls for temperature and timer are built-in to the top of the lid for easy access. The oven comes with two racks. One sits on the bottom of the glass bowl and the other is has feet so it can stand a few inches from the bottom. There is a handle to lift hot pans out of the oven.
We like that the oven is great for cooking smaller meals and doesn’t take up a lot of room on the counter. We also like that it is easy to clean and the quality of the food is great. Chicken and steak come out cooked properly and very tender and juicy. It also makes baked potatoes in a shorter amount of time.
The only thing we can complain about is how heavy the glass bowl is when you have to move it to the sink to clean. However, it is very easy to clean and will last longer than a plastic bowl.
Food doesn’t shrink as much in this oven because most of the juices aren’t lost in the cooking.
You can also reheat leftovers. Just wrap them in tin foil and reheat in the oven. They will retain their moisture and freshness.
The oven comes with lift handles for removing hot pans from the bowl.
Line the bottom of the bowl with tin foil to make it even easier to clean.
It comes with an instruction book however it is translated from Japanese so you might want to watch videos on how to use a halogen oven. They mostly all work the same.
There are also a number of halogen oven cookbooks available that are very helpful.
You might have to do some experimenting with temperatures and timing when you first start, but after you figure that out you will wonder how you ever did without it.
The oven comes with a low rack, dual rack, tongs and oven stand.
